Our Red Gum Honey is harvested from the majestic Marri (Red Gum) trees that thrive across Western Australia. With its rich amber colour, smooth caramel-like flavour, and subtle hints of toffee and spice, this variety is one of our most popular honeys. Naturally raw and unfiltered, it captures the essence of the Western Australian bush in every spoonful.

The Flavour of Red Gum Honey
Red Gum Honey offers a full-bodied, medium sweetness with fruity eucalyptus notes and a gentle toffee finish. Its balanced flavour makes it versatile, delicious on warm crumpets, stirred into tea, drizzled over yoghurt, or blended into marinades and baking. As it crystallises naturally over time, it develops a delightful texture that adds to its character.

Like our other Western Australian honeys, Red Gum Honey is raw and unfiltered, which means it keeps the natural antioxidants, enzymes and pollen that are often lost in heavily processed supermarket honey. It’s a wholesome everyday sweetener with real depth of flavour.
Red Gum Honey and the Marri Tree
Corymbia calophylla, commonly known as Marri or red gum, is one of Western Australia’s most iconic eucalypts. Growing up to 40 metres tall, these trees line rivers and creeks, producing nectar that our bees transform into this bold, complex honey. This unique floral source is what gives Red Gum Honey its signature flavour.

What makes our honey unique
Our beehives are located in real WA bushland. We manage every hive and pull every frame by hand. Harvesting with minimal processing, letting the honey settle on its own, and never straining through a micro-filter. Then we pour it raw. Nothing added, nothing taken away. Just the season, the bush, and the bees doing what they do.

Your honey questions, answered
Why has my honey crystallised?
Totally normal, and actually a good sign. Real, raw honey crystallises over time because of its natural sugar content, it just means there’s nothing added and nothing taken away. If you want it back to liquid, sit the jar in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water for a few minutes and give it a stir. It’ll taste exactly the same.
Is raw honey better than normal honey?
In our books, yes. Most honey you see in supermarkets has been heated and filtered, which is great for shelf life but strips out a lot of the natural pollen, enzymes and flavour along the way. Ours is raw, meaning it’s harvested straight from the hive and never heated past what the bees themselves would experience. You get all the natural goodness, plus that proper honey taste.

Where does the honey come from?
Straight from our own hives across Western Australia. We’re migratory beekeepers, moving our hives through Perth and the South West so our bees can forage from native trees like Jarrah and Marri, then we harvest and bottle it ourselves.
What type of honey is best for me?
Depends what you’re after. Want something bold and packed with wellness benefits? Go for Jarrah, it’s got a smooth caramel and toffee flavour and strong antimicrobial properties. After an everyday honey the whole family loves? Marri (Red Gum) is our most popular for a reason. Got little ones or prefer something gentler? Wandoo or our Creamed honey are lovely and mild.
