From Travel Agent to Beekeeper: A Sweet New Chapter 

We launched Piesseful Bees in 2020, after Leah was stood down from her job as a travel agent due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It called for a career change and turned out to be a blessing in disguise! Leah returned to travel for a short while, but by February 2022, she had resigned to pour her energy into the business full time.

Generations of Beekeeping Knowledge

Casey has been beekeeping on and off since he was a child, thanks to his dad and some close family friends who are commercial beekeepers themselves. He still works FIFO and loves spending time with the bees between swings.

What started with just 10 hives has now grown into a thriving small business with over 100 hives and counting. From backyard beginnings to a full-fledged honey operation, we’re proud to be a local supplier of raw Perth honey.

Since the beginning, our mission has been to provide our community with raw knowledge and the purest honey possible. We’re passionate about ethical and sustainable beekeeping, and we NEVER artificially feed our bees, so every jar of Perth honey we produce is as natural as it gets.

At our Malaga Markets shop, you’ll also meet Mama Sam, Leah’s mum and our resident people-person. She loves chatting to customers and sharing our story.

We often get asked how we do it all. The truth is, we thrive on the buzz. We have a 5-year-old daughter and recently welcomed our newest little one, so life is full and sweet in every sense of the word. Between family, work, and our growing Perth honey business, we’re well and truly busy bees.
