Our beeswax is natural, raw and sustainably harvested from our own Western Australian hives. Gently rendered and filtered, this high-quality natural beeswax is poured into practical pucks and blocks, ready for use in a wide range of home, craft and DIY projects.

We do not bleach, scent or chemically process our beeswax. What you receive is real, unrefined beeswax with a naturally golden colour and a subtle honeyed aroma that varies with the season and the flowers our bees have foraged.

What is beeswax?

Beeswax is a natural substance produced by honey bees during hive construction. Worker bees secrete wax from glands on the underside of their abdomen and use it to build the hexagonal honeycomb structure used to store honey, pollen and raise young bees.

To produce just 500g of beeswax, bees must consume more than 3.8kg of honey and visit millions of flowers. This process gives beeswax its natural colour, texture and light honey-like scent.

After honey extraction or when the older comb is retired, the wax is carefully collected, melted and filtered. Because this process depends on season and forage, no two batches of natural beeswax are ever exactly the same.

What is natural beeswax used for?

Natural beeswax is valued for its versatility, durability and natural antibacterial properties. It is water-resistant, long-lasting and non-toxic, making it suitable for many household and creative uses.

Each puck and block is hand-poured and may vary slightly in size, shape and colour depending on seasonal conditions.

Is this beeswax cosmetic grade?

Our beeswax is cleaned and filtered, but it is not refined to cosmetic-grade standards. This makes it ideal for beeswax wraps, candles, wood polish and waterproofing balms.

If you plan to use beeswax directly on skin or lips, we recommend re-filtering it yourself to achieve your preferred level of purity. Always patch test before use.

Is beeswax edible?

Beeswax itself is non-toxic and naturally food-safe, which is why it is commonly used for beeswax food wraps and as a coating for foods. However, beeswax is not typically eaten on its own.

Our beeswax is suitable for food-contact uses such as wraps, but it is not sold as an edible food product.

We produce our beeswax in small, seasonal batches as part of our honey extraction process. Every batch reflects the flowers blooming in Western Australia at that time, making each one slightly different in colour and scent.

Can I use your beeswax on my skin?

Our beeswax is not cosmetic grade, but many customers use it in homemade balms or salves. We recommend re-filtering before skin use and always performing a patch test.

Is beeswax safe for food wraps?

Yes. Our beeswax is commonly used to make reusable beeswax wraps. It is naturally food-safe and works well when combined with oils and resins.

Is beeswax vegan?

No. Beeswax is produced by bees and is not considered vegan. It is, however, a renewable and sustainable by-product of ethical beekeeping.

Does beeswax expire?

Beeswax does not spoil. When stored in a cool, dry place, it can last indefinitely. A white bloom may appear over time, which is natural and can be buffed off.

Why does beeswax vary in colour?

Natural beeswax varies depending on floral sources, season and comb age. Colours can range from pale yellow to deep gold or amber.
