Is Creamed Honey Still Raw and Good for You?

Yes. Creaming is a purely physical process, nothing is heated and nothing is added. Our creamed honey is the same raw WA bush honey as our liquid range, just churned to a smooth texture, so it keeps all the natural enzymes and goodness of raw honey.

What is Creamed Honey Made From?

Ours is made from Western Australian bush honey, gathered from remote native bushland. It’s the floral mix of the bush that gives it its flavour, and the careful churning that gives it its smooth, spreadable texture.

How is Creamed Honey Different From Regular Honey?

It’s the same honey with a different texture. Liquid honey pours, creamed honey spreads. We control the way the honey crystallises so it sets into a fine, smooth, buttery consistency rather than the large grainy crystals you get when honey sets on its own.

Why Has My Creamed Honey Gone Runny?

Warm weather is usually the culprit. Creamed honey can soften and separate a little if it gets too warm. Give it a stir and keep it in the fridge over summer, or anywhere above 25 degrees, and it’ll go back to its smooth, spreadable self.

Should You Refrigerate Creamed Honey?

You don’t have to, but it helps. Creamed honey is happiest somewhere cool and out of direct sun. In a mild spell it’ll sit fine in the pantry, but over an Australian summer, or anywhere above 25 degrees, the fridge is what keeps it firm and smooth. If it softens, a quick stir and a spell back in the fridge sorts it out.

Does Creamed Honey Contain Any Additives?

None at all. There’s no added sugar, no thickeners, and nothing artificial. It’s simply raw honey that’s been crystallised and churned until it reaches a thick, spreadable texture.

How Long Does Pure Creamed Honey Last?

A long time. Pure raw honey doesn’t really expire when it’s kept cool and sealed, so a tub will stay good for years rather than months. If you grew up with a tub of creamed honey in the fridge, this one will take you straight back. Creamed honey is simply our raw Western Australian bush honey, churned slowly until its natural crystals break down into something smooth, thick, and properly spreadable. Nothing is added and nothing is taken away.

How We Make It

Every honey sets over time as its natural sugars form crystals. With creamed honey we lean into that rather than fighting it, churning the honey at controlled speeds so the crystals break into tiny, fine particles. That’s what gives creamed honey its buttery, fudgy feel, the kind you can spread straight onto warm toast without it sliding off the sides.

What Makes It Different From Liquid Honey?

Same honey, different feel. Creamed honey, sometimes called set honey or honey fondant, is a touch lighter in colour than the liquid version of the same floral type, and it holds its shape on a knife. Because the crystallising has already been done properly, it won’t turn hard or grainy the way untouched honey eventually does.

How to Enjoy It

Creamed honey is built for spreading. It’s lovely on crumpets, toast and warm scones, stirred through porridge or dolloped over ice cream. Most people enjoy it straight from the tub.

Storing Your Creamed Honey

Creamed honey likes to stay cool. In the warmer months, or anywhere above 25 degrees, keep it in the fridge so it holds its texture. If you notice it starting to go runny at the bottom of the tub, give it a good stir and pop it back in the fridge and it’ll firm up again.

Our beehives are located in real WA bushland. We manage every hive and pull every frame by hand. Harvesting with minimal processing, letting the honey settle on its own, and never straining through a micro-filter. Then we pour it raw. Nothing added, nothing taken away. Just the season, the bush, and the bees doing what they do.

Your honey questions, answered

Why has my honey crystallised?

Totally normal, and actually a good sign. Real, raw honey crystallises over time because of its natural sugar content, it just means there’s nothing added and nothing taken away. If you want it back to liquid, sit the jar in a bowl of warm (not boiling) water for a few minutes and give it a stir. It’ll taste exactly the same.

Is raw honey better than normal honey?

In our books, yes. Most honey you see in supermarkets has been heated and filtered, which is great for shelf life but strips out a lot of the natural pollen, enzymes and flavour along the way. Ours is raw, meaning it’s harvested straight from the hive and never heated past what the bees themselves would experience. You get all the natural goodness, plus that proper honey taste.

Where does the honey come from?

Straight from our own hives across Western Australia. We’re migratory beekeepers, moving our hives through Perth and the South West so our bees can forage from native trees like Jarrah and Marri, then we harvest and bottle it ourselves.

What type of honey is best for me?

Depends what you’re after. Want something bold and packed with wellness benefits? Go for Jarrah, it’s got a smooth caramel and toffee flavour and strong antimicrobial properties. After an everyday honey the whole family loves? Marri (Red Gum) is our most popular for a reason. Got little ones or prefer something gentler? Wandoo or our Creamed honey are lovely and mild.
